Natural Ferulic acid extracts from rice bran, wheat bran and other plants.  Synthetic ferulic acid is prepared by chemical synthesis of vanillin and propylene glycol. The chemical name is 4-hydroxy-methoxy cinnamic acid.  

Natural ferulic acid production process: rice bran or wheat bran by extraction of millet, and then millet enzymatic hydrolysis, extraction, concentration, decolorization, refining, crystallization, dry grinding;  Synthesis ferulic acid production process: vanillin and propylene glycol through chemical synthesis.  Ferulic acid quality standards to implement enterprise internal control standards, conventional specifications: HPLC≥98%  

Ferulic acid is one of cinnamic acid (also known as cinnamic acid, 3 phenyl 2 acrylic acid) derivatives, its properties is like white crystalline powder, melting point 174℃, ferulic acid is generally soluble in propylene glycol, ethanol and ethyl acetate, slightly soluble in ether, difficult to dissolve in benzene and petroleum ether.  In the stability test, ferulic acid has a good stability in the buffer solution pH=2.62-5.10 at room temperature of 25℃. With the gradual alkalinity of the environment, ferulic acid also degrades and deactivates.  

Studies have found that ferulic acid has antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.  Ferulic acid, as an effective natural antioxidant, has high safety and is widely used in medicine, health care products, cosmetics and food additives.
